Safe Needle Disposal Resources
We encourage patients to utilize a sharps disposal program to safely dispose of used needles from injectable medications. Although we do not have an available drop box on site, we would like to provide our patients the following resources to safely dispose of their used needles:
NovoCare (Diabetes):
Patients who are taking the following anti-diabetic medications made by Novo Nordisk may request a free sharps disposal at https://www.novocare.com/diabetes/resources/safe-disposal.html. After the container is full, you may mail it back to the company for safe disposal at no cost to you.
- Fiasp
- Levemir
- Novolog
- Ozempic
- Tresiba
- Victoza
- Xultophy
- Zegalogue
NovoCare (Obesity):
Similar to above, the Novo Nordisk products listed below used to help people achieve their weight loss goals may also be mailed back by filling out the following link: https://www.novocare.com/obesity/resources/safe-disposal.html.
- Wegovy
- Saxenda
- Ajovy: Has a Free Sharps Container Program which allows you to mail back your used needles; patients can enroll by contacting the program at 800-887-8100.

Repatha: If a patient is enrolled in Amgen SupportPlus, you may receive two sharps containers per year to dispose of your used pens via a mail-back program. Visit the website to learn more: https://www.repatha.com/enrollment.
Emgality: Provides a free sharps container for patients to safely dispose of the medication at home, but does NOT offer a mail back disposal system; patients may enroll at https://emgality.lilly.com/sharps-container-registration.
For medications not listed above, we encourage patients to find a safe disposal near them using the following link: https://safeneedledisposal.org/.
