FAQs:

How much does a visit cost?

$60 for up to a 30-minute appointment-- no hidden fees. We believe in price transparency paired with comprehensive, high-quality care. If you need labs following your visit with Monica, we can provide you with a separate price estimate from labs we partner with so you know before you go.

Can you bill my health insurance for my visit?

No. Unfortunately, most insurance companies still do not recognize receiving these important services from a licensed and trained pharmacist instead of a traditional healthcare setting. We are happy to provide an itemized list to you for the services rendered for you to pursue reimbursement from your insurance company. These services are HSA/FSA eligible.

Who are these services designed to help?

Those who are without a primary care provider, are generally healthy, and/or are uninsured or underinsured are a large part of why we started offering these services, but these populations are not the only ones who can benefit from our services. We aim to provide affordable, timely, and quality care to all those we serve. If we feel the care you need is outside the pharmacist's scope of practice, we will refer you to a different healthcare professional for your safety and wellbeing.

I live on the other side of Iowa, but want to utilize your telehealth services- can you still send a prescription to my local pharmacy?

Yes! We are set up to send prescriptions electronically to your preferred pharmacy in Iowa.

I've never heard of these services in a pharmacy... is this new in Iowa?

Yes! With new legislation passed in Iowa in August 2025, pharmacists now operate under a Standard of Care Model. This regulatory framework allows each individual pharmacist the ability to operate at the top of their education, training, and experience instead of working under rigid rules and regulations that limit access to patient care services. Iowa is the third state to implement this model of clinical care, after only Idaho and Alaska.

Our team here at Medicap Pharmacy-Glenwood are a locally and nationally recognized pharmacy when it comes to innovation and addressing our patients' needs- we are proud to serve you, and be a part of your healthcare team!

I can't find childcare for my appointment... can I bring them with to the pharmacy, or have them in the room with me during our telehealth visit?

Yes! In fact, Monica encourages it. As a fellow parent, she knows life does not stop when you get sick or need to manage a medical condition; if having your child tag along in person or present with you during a telehealth visit means you get the care YOU need, then that is more than okay!
